Evangelism
Training God's church to reach others with the gospel and the distinctive truths of the Adventist Church.
My Description of Evangelism
Seeking to Save the Lost
A pastor seeks to save the lost. Pastors engage in proclaiming the good news about Jesus in order to lead sinners to repentance and life. Paul shares in 1 Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” When we realize how great of an accomplishment was our salvation, we will desire to bring that to others.
Evangelism is Out-Reach and In-Reach
The pastor seeks those who are lost. Luke 15 describes this in great detail. The pastor seeks those who are lost: those away from Jesus and His church and those away from Jesus while in His church. Thus, evangelism is not purely outreach, but also in-reach.
Evangelism is Equipping the Saints
The pastor not only engages in seeking the lost but equips the church for evangelism.
Ellen White shares the following,
“The church is God’s appointed agency for the salvation of men... The members of the church, those whom He has called out of darkness into His marvelous light, are to show forth His glory. The church is the repository of the riches of the grace of Christ; and through the church will eventually be made manifest, even to “the principalities and powers in heavenly places,” the final and full display of the love of God. Ephesians 3:10.” (AA 9.1)
My Learning on Evangelism

Meaningful Quotes on Evangelism
"When we have entire, wholehearted consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of His Spirit without measure; but this will not be while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God." (p.699)
"The usefulness of young men who feel that they are called by God to preach, depends much upon the manner in which they enter upon their labors. Those who are chosen of God for the work of the ministry will give proof of their high calling, and by every possible means will seek to develop into able workmen." (p.682)
Meaningful Quotes on Evangelism
"Tim Keller notes: 'God does not merely send the church in mission. God already is in mission, and the church must join him. This also means, then, that the church does not simply have a missions department; it should wholly exist to be a mission.'" (Location 614)
"Ultimately our goal is much more than creating a large attendance; it's making disciples." (Location 743)

Currently, I am going through this book with my elders. Each Elders meeting we discuss a chapter.

My Atlanta North Evangelism Plan

My Experience in Public Evangelism
Evangelism looked a little different during the pandemic. At Atlanta North, we did digital evangelism where people could watch in the comfort of their homes and feel safe. We posted the series on YouTube and shared through Social Media platforms.
During this time, I also tried to invite people to come over and watch these together followed by discussion. I had about two to three events.
Five Week Evangelism - The Great Reset

Additional Public Evangelism Efforts

We did this at Atlanta North as a VOP bridge event to prepare for the Discovering Revelation Evangelistic Series.
This evangelism series, we did in Spring of 2020. We did it during the pandemic and then everything shut down. We participated with VOP as a Discover Center.
Digital Bridge Events for Evangelism
The above were other bridge events that we did as a church at Atlanta North. Most of the bridge series were prayer or health related events. We also did Optimize your Brain and Financial Peace university.

Evangelism through Community Service - ANYA
This was around Christmas time where the Young Adults at ANC helped a refugee family. We replaced some plumbing issues and shared clothing items and other home essentials.

I wish I had pictures of the class. I totally forgot. We had about 10 individuals attend the first 3 and then the last two we had about 5 individuals. At the end of the class, I gave each attendee a book, Studying Together by Mark Finley.
The Gospel - Bible Class
This Bible Class was a 7 week class in order to lead people to experience the gospel in their lives. I did this class specifically for David Miller, the elderly gentleman next to the elderly red haired lady, Donna Miller. He is not Adventist and wants to know more about Scripture and God. He has yet to be baptized and he has expressed interest since the class.

Evangelism Rally
This is a recent event that took place. I invited our church to come and attend the Evangelism Rally in Atlanta to foster a culture of evangelism. These individuals have expressed interest and a desire to start evangelism at our church. The one take away from this event was the need to meet for prayer, specifically prayer for the salvation of others.

Evangelism through Adventist Christian Fellowship
I am working with the students at UGA to form ACF and also to reach those who are not Adventist at UGA. We want to invite all those who may be interested to our club.
